Through Ahan Analytics, LLC, Dr. Duru delivers sustainable, data-driven approaches for improving organizational performance. Here are some example cases:

Data Strategy: Transformation of A Data Ecosystem

  • An IT infrastructure consultancy needed help with data strategy for one of its clients, a non-profit organization with well over one million members. Dr. Duru created data strategy to improve the data architecture and conducted a qualitative analysis of a knowledge discovery and knowledge management project.
    • Developed a secure method for using generative AI to implement qualitative analysis.
    • Created Standard Operation Procedures (SOP) for a Looker implementation (with warehousing on Civis Analytics) used to upgrade a suite of dashboards and reports and used to develop a 360-view of membership engagement across 5 software platforms.
  • The same IT infrastructure company needed help creating an RFP (Request for Proposal) for a major transformation of an on-premise data architecture to the cloud.
    • Facilitated discovery sessions used to construct the RFP
    • Provided data analytics perspectives on the proposed architectures

Operations Management: Health Care

  • A small OB/GYN practice had a large problem adjusting its business to leaner economic times. Dr. Duru participated in the review of operations. After demonstrating how to download more data from the practice’s medical information systems, Dr. Duru delivered:
    • A simulation tool for scheduling in-office patients for on-call doctors. By simulating delivery rates based on the term profiles of existing pregnant patients, the practice could more confidently and more effectively schedule on-call doctors for in-office patients. The configurable tool allowed for sensitivity analysis using different assumptions on delivery rates.
    • Recommendations for increasing operational efficiency. Dr. Duru supported these recommendations with the historical trends and relationships on appointments and staffing.
  • Other applications
    • Effective scheduling requires an understanding of key uncertainties; for example, the arrival rate of patients who need urgent care. Effective decision-making requires estimates of the costs of outcomes like rescheduling, mitigations like over-staffing, and/or lost revenue from under-scheduling. Dr. Duru can help you create a decision analysis framework around these uncertainties and establish scheduling techniques that address your organization’s objectives.

Financial Modeling

An innovative solar panel company needed a thorough audit of its financial model and projections. Dr. Duru helped the company generate a convincing financial case and reshape its narrative. This work has led to several successful funding rounds that support on-going research and development.

Financial Markets: Executive Interviews

Dr. Duru writes a blog for students and fans of financial markets called “One-Twenty Two.” The blog covers the U.S. housing market, technical analysis, stocks, options, commodities, currencies, and even cryptocurrencies. The work includes interviewing CEOs for insights. For examples see:
