  • A small OB/GYN practice had a large problem adjusting its business to leaner economic times. Ahan participated in the review of operations. After demonstrating how to download more data from the practice’s medical information systems, Ahan delivered:
    • A simulation tool for scheduling in-office patients for on-call doctors. By simulating delivery rates based on the term profiles of existing pregnant patients, the practice could more confidently and more effectively schedule on-call doctors for in-office patients. The configurable tool allowed for sensitivity analysis using different assumptions on delivery rates.
    • Recommendations for increasing operational efficiency. Ahan supported these recommendations with the historical trends and relationships on appointments and staffing.
